The entire product is a single weekly email. No portal. No dashboard. No daily noise. Every issue lands with a small set of screened candidates, each one grounded in an actual conversation before inclusion.

Every profile starts with a real conversation.

No scraped lists. No LinkedIn forwards. No cold aggregated data. Each candidate who appears in a Blackbox issue has been personally interviewed, context-checked, and assessed against the kinds of roles our hiring partners actually fill.

We look at operator depth, specific wins, comp expectations, and the real reason they would move. If any part of that is soft, they do not make the brief.

02 / Curation
Two to four candidates per issue. Never more.

Every issue is capped intentionally. The job of the brief is to let a senior operator scan it in under two minutes and walk away with a clear sense of whether anyone in it is worth a conversation.

That is impossible at volume. Most recruiter emails fail because they ask a hiring manager to sift signal from noise. Blackbox removes the noise before it leaves our desk.

03 / Anonymity
Names appear only when both sides want them to.

A Blackbox profile contains function, years of experience, industry context, comp range, and geography. It does not contain a name, a current employer, a LinkedIn URL, or any detail precise enough to reverse engineer an identity.

If an issue catches your eye, you reply. We confirm fit on both sides. Only then do introductions happen, and only with the candidate's explicit sign-off.

04 / Distribution
Sent only to qualified hiring partners.

Access to the brief is invitation-only. We vet every recipient individually. The list stays small on purpose because that is the only way the anonymity model holds up, and the only way candidates will agree to be in it.

You will never see Blackbox in a newsletter tool. You will never see it forwarded. If you received it, someone you know vouched for you.

Hiring managers, founders, and operators who want early visibility into exceptional talent without wading through the public market. Typically companies under 500 employees with a specific role in mind, or a repeat need in a single function.

Receiving the Blackbox brief is free for qualified hiring partners. If you move forward with an introduction and hire a candidate originally surfaced through Blackbox, a placement fee applies on hire. No fees of any kind unless someone is hired.

Yes. Every candidate is personally interviewed before inclusion. We verify experience, understand context, and only feature people whose background genuinely matches what they describe. Nothing in a Blackbox profile is inferred from a resume alone.

Only after there is real interest on both sides and we have confirmed both parties want to proceed. We never send a name without the candidate's explicit sign-off on the specific introduction. That protects the candidate, and it protects the integrity of the network for you.

You will receive a short reply within 48 hours. If you are a clear fit, the next issue lands in your inbox on its regular Thursday send. If you are not a fit, we will say so directly and point you toward something more appropriate. We do not add people quietly and we do not run a waitlist queue.
